A&C Black launch trio of health and fitness books

A&C Black have unveiled three new health and fitness books designed to improve the health and wellbeing of both beginners and those with prior experience.

Debbie Lawrence’s Advanced Circuit Training (ISBN 978-1-4081-0050-9) and Exercise in Water (ISBN 978-1-4081-0140-7) are additions to the Fitness Professionals series, whilst former British Bodybuilding Champion Anita Bean writes The Complete Guide to Strength Training (ISBN 978-1-4081-0539-9).

Bean’s book is aimed at those who want to increase their strength and resculpt their body, with a combination of training methods and nutritional guidance delivering a programme for both novice and advanced trainers. The updated fourth edition includes the principles of strength training and muscle growth, over 70 exercises, beginner, intermediate and advanced training schedules and advice on burning fat and gaining muscle.

Advanced Circuit Training is the follow up to Circuit Training, and is a guide on how to teach an advanced circuits class. It is said to include all the latest developments as well as detailed photography to aid teaching and learning. Some of the topics covered are how to structure a session including warm-ups and cool downs, advanced circuit drills and designs and advanced hardcore circuits using objects such as kettlebells, sledgehammers and rubber tyres.

Exercise in Water claims to be a practical handbook for the regular exerciser who wants to learn more about the benefits of training in water. Also targeted towards fitness professionals wanting level two and three knowledge, the book covers best practice and links to the national standards to which all gym instructors and personal trainers are assessed.

All three paperbacks are available now.
